In the States British Pacific (800-554-4133) carries striped wiring and a
complete inventory of correct connectors. I have the Lucas standard wire
colour code in my web site ( http://www.cruzers.com/~twakeman ).
Proper wrapping becomes the issue along with the skills of the person
doing the job. Personally I think the commercial harness people are
minimizing costs by reducing wire sizes to the minimum.
