Just a note regarding IRS access to your bank account. I had to begin
depositing my payroll taxes electronically starting in 1997. I too was
leary of letting the IRS draft my account weekly until I talked to my
bankers- they wanted $50. a month to do what the IRS would do for free.
WHich is the bigger bunch of thieving B$%#%%ds? I've had my troubles
with the IRS, however, since the Senate hearings on abuses, they seem
to have become a somewhat kinder, gentler, bureaucracy. Electronic
debit and deposit is the only way to go, IMHO. We've not had a problem
in the 3 years we've been using their system.
