TR3 rear stud removal

I have been following the thread(s) on this topic, as I need to replace one on
each rear wheel; they've both snapped off. Just wondering, has anyone managed
to remove them by grinding off the FRONT, then continuing to thread them 
clockwise
via easy-out (another contradictory name) applied from behind, such that they
come out the rear? Or is there not enough room to get in behind there (I'm not
in the vicinity of the car at present).
