Joe be right. As a former Corvette owner (64'), "matching numbers" means the
exact same block, tranny, diff, that came with the car. Unlike my Triumph,
my Corvette had the block stamped with the same serial number as my car...so
did the tranny. As soon as '67 big block Vettes hit the $50,000+ realm,
there became a market for restamping tools. In fact, there are more '67 big
block Corvettes today than Chevy ever made!
