Steph,

In my opinion the engine is much easier to pull by itself but pulling the
transmission takes two people because you can't reach the bolts and nuts
that attach the trans to the engine at the same time unless you take the
body off of the car first.  Pulling them together when the body is in place
is tricky as you have to tilt the engine rather severely to clear the front
body work and the firewall at the same time.  I prefere to pull them
separately.  And you may have to raise the front of the car to get enough
clearance for the tail of the transmission.  JMO.

However, if the body is off yanking the engine/transmission (or plopping it
back in) is duck soup.
