That particular article provided some good tips for strengthening the TR-2/4
chassis,
but won't apply to the TR-4A/6. On the early chassis, the 'X' brace is
constructed of
'C' shaped channels rather than a box rail. By boxing the rails of the brace,
you can
add strength to the early chassis without adding too much weight. The later IRS
chassis is already fully boxed and won't benefit from the types of mods
discussed in
the article. BTW, the article appeared in GRM's Sept/Oct '98 issue.
