Those of you with good memories (or little else to do :>) may recall that I
described some nasty transmission noises a few months back before I parked
the TR6. Something like "chuk-chukkk-whizzzzz!! chuk- chuk-" etc. Well, I
finally took the drain plug out of the gearbox... and it looks like one of my
kid's pre-school art projects.
Now as I recall, some yellow metal was ok (balking rings I think, that wear
normally). I'd have to say these little flecks are silver, not yelow. And
there are just, golly, so darn many of them! Pretty little things too.
So I'm guessing, since these things are disbursed throughout the gear oil,
I've shredded a gear tooth or synchro- does this ever helpful and way smarter
than me list concur?
See you-
