John,
I have not seen any personally, but I was perusing through the MOSS
Spitfire catalog a few days ago and saw an illustration of what you
mention.  I was intrigued by it.

The Moss catalog suggests that it was used on 75 and 76 California
Spits.  The VB catalog shows the an illustration with some engine number
sequences.  But it is difficult to know if it applies to the dipstick
tube or just the plug, since neither Moss nor VB sells the actual tube.
