My TR6 has been resting on jack stands for the last month or more while I
repair my diff mounts and sort out all this damned pinion preload stuff...
In the front, I lift from the center of the main cross-member and position
the stands inboard of the front wheels supporting the longitudinal frame
rails right where the main cross-member joins the frame rails.
In the back, I position the jacks at either end of the cross-tube that runs
under the spare tire well, OUTBOARD of the frame rails. I'd rather put
them at the outer corner of the frame, just outboard of the trailing arm
brackets, except that then the rear end seems to want to sag too much.
Doesn't feel right. The frame rails on either side of the diff slope up at
an angle slightly, so that never seems very secure, either.
