dog's name is "Ellen", affectionately known among family and friends as

Subject: Another Rescue Mission - update
Well, it was quite an interesting day to say the least. Got to meet Ken
Gano
and his dog finally, looked at two dieing (sp) for a new home TR3's and
made it to Madisonville Kentucky at a reasonable hour.
Last night I made it to within 30 miles of Kens place and I stopped for the
night. This morning I contacted Ken and made arrangements to meet him at
his place.
Somehow walking into Ken's garage was a lot like walking into my own.
You kind of have to watch where you place each foot for fear of stepping
on a Triumph part waiting to be put back on the car! Kens in the process
of redoing the family TR3. If I understood him right the car has been in
his
family since new. Not to many can say that about these cars.
Ken's done a lot of work to the car and I won't divulge any secrets but next
year if you pull up beside a pearl white TR3 that has a guy and his
Rottweiler sitting in the car, DON'T expect to beat him to the next light or
any other light. Ken's building himself a sleeper that will just about
knock
your socks off!! I'm anxious to see the car when he's done and also get a
ride in it. Provided of course he installs the air bags on the passenger
side!
The best part and actually it almost overshadowed his car was his dog. He
says its his boys dog but I wouldn't want to place bets on that one. If you
ever want to see a comedy act stop by Ken's place and met the dog (can't
remember her name, sorry Ken!). I've never seen a dog skate board before
but this one does and does it well!! According to Ken she has gone
through two prior skateboards (tore em up) before he found a plastic one
that she uses now. Believe me, its worth the time just to watch the dog
show!!
Later Ken and I went to check out two pre TS50,000 TR3's. One is worth
nothing more than a few parts but the other one has definite builder
potential. To give you an idea of how closely Ken guards their location,
first he led me out into the countryside and took sorts of narrow twisting
turning roads. I swear we doubled back on ourselves at least twice! But
after much twisting and turning we got there. Suffice it to say, there is
no
way I could find the place again so his secret is still safe!
Anyway, we came up with a figure on what to offer the current owner and
Ken is going to track him down and see what he can do about liberating the
cars from the weeds.
I'd just like to thank Ken for a most interesting and enjoyable morning.
Well, thats the first half of the Rescue Mission. The second half unfolds
tomorrow morning. I'll post the details of my attempt tomorrow sometime.
