Paid my 2.5PI saloon a visit again today, prior to hauling her home on a
trailer in a week or so's time. On the first visit, emotion was in the
ascendant - today was the critical trip. She's quite an early Mk II - MG
4305 DL with a bad attack of sediment in the low pressure fuel return line
and air in the injection system. Fuel pump makes all the right warbling
noises which suggests the pressure relief valve is doing what it shouldn't
but plenty of electrics at the plug ends. All this has to be sorted as high
voltage sparks at the plug tips and fuel going piddly-widdly in close
proxiity from the metering unit in a closed garage is not the most ideal
situation.
PO has already done a superb job on the interior, so even if the external
aspects of the car are in need of improvement, there isn't all that much to
do in tidying things up in the office. Pictures will be posted 'ere long.
