Ok I'll bite this one...
I am admittedly Spit-challenged but how fast are you going at 5k rpm??? My
TR6's O/D (J-type) invokes a 25% reduction in RPMs. At 70mph I'm revving at
an indicated 2500rpm with O/D on
(<http://www.cyberbia.com/peterz/tmp/70mph.jpg> - returning from the ATDI
last Monday near Banff) and 3400rpm with O/D off. At 5000 I'd be going
veeery fast if I could even get up that high. If you could reduce the 5k by
25% that would still be 3750 no? Pretty fast, in a TR6 anyway. Are Spits
that much more highly strung (or whatever the term is)?
