All you have to do is gently but firmly lever the gearbox forward. There's
enough play in the gearbox and engine rubber mounts to allow the movement
you need to separate the flanges. Then, as I recall, lift the driveshaft
up and over the gearbox flange to clear the diff. flange, then it should
come out the bottom. You might need to temporarily relocate the exhaust
system, though.
