Hi List an carb-gurus,
when I recently tried to adjust the SU H6 carbs on my TR4 I found out, that
the mixture adjusting nut of one carb was broken. So I replaced the nut, and
while I was at it, all the seals of the jet assembly of both carbs. After
the reassembly and centering of the jet, I balanced the carbs and set the
mixture with the help of colortune spark plugs.
Everything worked out fine with the setup, but when I drive the car and step
off the accelerator approaching a red light, the engine dies on me. Even
though, when I start the engine again, it idles at about 1000 rpm steadily.
It does that not all the time, but most of the time. When I adjust the
mixture way too rich it stops dying on me.
What have I done wrong?
What could be the problem?
