Rebuild the whole front suspension. The results will be well worth the
effort. The hardest part is really the spring. Make sure you use/make
a good spring compressor tool, then follow the instructions in
Bentley's manual. For the ball joint, I used a fork-type separator
with a large wrench behind it for added leverage. You might wait until
next winter to do this, or spend a weekend on the project. It's dirty,
but not all that complicated. Again, results are well worth the
effort.
Check/replace trunions, bearings, shocks. Replace balljoints, all
bushings.
