I too have a 66 TR4A. When purchased there was no PVC value, just a hose
dangling and the manifold plugged with a bolt. I should probably check the
garage to see if the car is still there ;^)
I picked up a new original PVC value for about $30 dollars at the CT Triumph
show last September (great show). These units are rebuildable. I believe the
kit is only about $20, at least that's what I remember it going for at the
show. I still need a mounting bracket, manifold connector and hoses. The
bracket can be fabricated. Hosed can be purchased anywhere. The only thing I
need is the manifold adapter.
$170 seems quite high for something that cost under $5 on a modern car. You
might be able to pick a used one from someone on this list and rebuild it for
significantly less.
