Steve,

I am a TR4 guy, but they have much in common with TR6's. Any Triumph will
require regular and loving maintenance. If you are handy (as you say), you
will find that work on a Triumph is very straightforward for the most part -
no magic or esoteria. A good manual, membership in a club of enthusiasts and a
list such as this will see you through. Many a mechanically challenged person
has turned into a crack TRiumph mechanic by going this route.

Properly rebuilt parts are as good and sometimes better than original (there
have been technical strides made since they stopped producing Triumphs.)
Triumphs do require care, time and patience - you have to pretty much be ready
for a new and addicting hobby.

Just my two shekels.
