Keith, 
The troubles you have experienced are due to the "getting aquainted
period".  After this (sometimes lengthy) period, you will come to know
your Spit as a trusted friend like your other TRs.  In the meantime
keep your wallet handy.

By the way, If you haven't already responded, I need details on your
Spit for my Spitfire database.
