List,
A question on my '71 Spitfire..1300 engine
This morning, the car ran great. Now, after a couple hours of cool down
time, the engine does not want to rev above 3000 rpm. When the
accelerator is floored, it stays at this RPM, with a little bit of
skipping. I checked the throttle linkage and it is ok, and tried reving
the engine from the linkage itself, but there was no difference. It
runs just fine, very smoothly at idle and up to 3000 rpm. Anyone have
any ideas on what I could check? I did find a bad connection on the
coil, but changing it had no effect on the performance.
