Barry is (IMHO)(as usual) on target with his response...My Spit has
the down draft version of the weber...installed by the DPO. The car
idles and at constant cruise is slightly less smooth than the original
ZS...the weber does improve acceleration some, but it isn't clear to
me that that small gain in performance justifies the more obvious
sacrifice of smooth running...one constantly wonders if the plugs are
misfiring, or if the tune is just off a little...until the accelerator
goes to the floor and the little engine winds quickly up....which
brings us back to the dratted vent window thread...
Cheers!

David,
If you haven't modified your engine with a 'bigger' cam, ported head,
higher compression, exhaust extractor, free flowing exhaust, perfect
ignition or electronic with a hotter coil, etc. then using a DCOE will only
degrade performance, and be a dog off the line. The DGV however, if
properly tuned, can enhance performance over the standard single Stromberg
150. I personally don't care for the manifold arrangement (not a straight
shot), looking rather inefficient but thereÆs really no other choice given
the height restrictions.
