Kerry,
There is an article describing the bolt-in replacement
of a Bosch alternator from a Ford Fiesta on the VTR
WWW pages at
http://www.vtr.org/maintain/alternator-bosch.html
Depending on the model of alternator you have in
your car, the original (stock) connector on the alternator
even fits!
Also, there has been a recent thread on the list
about TR6 rebuilt Lucas alternators available at
AutoZone for $65, with a lifetime warranty.
Being that there isn't an AutoZone in my area, I
called my local PepBoys to see what they have
available. They have a rebuilt Lucas unit for
$65.87 with a $33 core charge. This is also
a lifetime warrantied unit. For $100, I'd be
inclined to take this route, I think.
