A viscous clutch also has the advantage of being fail safe. I am not aware of one that would fit the TR range." a) An common upgrade for the TR3 fan used to be the fan from a Volvo 122. The 122 had Volvo's B-18 engine. b) I'm pretty sure the fan on some early Volvo 144's had a viscous clutch. The 144 engine was a B-20 which was essentially a bored B-18. So, maybe a & b suggest a possibility. But I don't know and I don't have a B-20 engine sitting around to try it. Andy Lindberg (TR3 in Minnesota) (and a 122 also) |
