If my understanding is correct; on Wednesday night the SOL'rs will be
meeting at the pool (s) for evening of camaraderie and fish stories :-)
Unfortunately the mundane things of life (work) precludes my attending
even though the '3 is rarin' to go...:-(
So, in consolation, I will be sitting at poolside at 9pm cst raising a
glass of whatever to the lot of you. I won't offer good luck on your
trip as I don't want to jinx anyone. Just enjoy the drive / ride /
flight / whatever and if you have a spare moment think about us po'folks
who can't make the trip...
Later,

And is it true that next year will be in Minneapolis? Bummer...

Subject: SOL Pool Party
Scions,
Well I waited a day to see if any late comers were
entering the arena. So
far it seems to be a pretty good turnout for the SOL. You have
proved the
local nay sayers wrong and we will have a good showing. So it
look like I
will be needing more than one case of beer!
So far the Scions in attendance are listed below. Please
feel free to
update the list if you got your trunion oiler delivered in time
to make it
down.
Kenneth B. Streeter Nashua, NH - Suggested I print out a SOL
banner to
Identify us at the pool. It might not be in color but I'll stick
one on the
ice chest . With the Texas heat the group surely won't wander
from there.
Andrew Mace - President (seems to have his drivable car blocked
in by his
trunion collection) but will be riding down with Bob Lang.
Could this be a
modern remake of Easy Rider? Come to the pool and find out!
Andy in Minnesota - Coming down with his club (Buicks and
Minivans) so he
will be driving the one reliable car, his TR3
Irv and the Lurkers - coming down from Highland Park, IL.
Haven't you
always wondered what a lurker looked like?
Chad Jester, Seoul, KOREA - Is attempting to sneak in on the
long distance
award but will really be driving down with his Dad in a freshly
restored 76
TR6 with AC.
Steve Thornton Bowling Green, KY - Has a new twist to justifying
towing. He
wants to hang around the wading pool because that is where a lot
of young
mothers sit while their husbands are at the race track. Are you
sure you
don't secretly drive a Corvette?
Justin - Driving his driver TR6 from CA.
Steve the Yellow Bullet - Going for the shortest drive award.
Take his hotel
reservation Please!
Ralph Jannelli Charlotte NC - Will have a '65 Spitfire on a
trailer.
Bob from somewhere Jones_m2@popmail.firn.edu - A real Mystery
man.
John Lye rjl6n@virginia.EDU - Is dragging the red beast behind
him.
Joe Worsley Tupelo, MS - "Is that all we get just a case?
That's not much
of a bribe! I guess I'll come anyway". Spoken like a true
Southerner! Free
Beer I'm There!
Roger Bolick, Austin - Hoping for an event where you push the
car around a
course. Sure would hate for the exhaust pipe to get dirty.
Richard Ceraldi Austin, TX (That's me) Will have to drive
because I give
the trailer guys so much grief. Though the idea of the young
mother at the
wading pool is intriguing.
The plan is to be near the pool on Wednesday and home in
on the SOL cooler.
With the response I have received it will be a large cooler at
that. I
should probably enter so I can get a schedule and make sure
there is no
conflict with a scheduled event but as it stands now see you at
the pool..
Sponsorship available (are you listening TRF? A case of Spitfire
Ale and you
get to hang with us!)
See Ya,
Richard Ceraldi
