Mike,
Here is my opinion of the manuals I'm familiar with.  I have three shop
manuals.  If I had to have just one it would be the Bentley.  It's very
complete, usually clear and even includes a reprint of the owners
manual.

Next on my list, and I believe long out of print, is an autobook manual.
 It's a relatively thin hardcover, but is often valuable in clarifying
something from the Bentley, or because it gives drawings and
instructions on how to fabricate special tools rather than just a part
number.

Last would be the tattered, greasy, Haynes that lives in the garage for
quick reference.  It has occasionally lead me astray, and I never have
liked it, but the price was right.  I inherited it from a DPO.
