The problem with the TR-6 (I don't know about TR-3) and probably the
4/5 and 250 is that the drain from the scupper on the cowl ends in the
space between the outer and inner fender. The water is supposed to
weep out thru two serrations pressed into the inner rocker (which
create a gap between the inner rocker and the fender panel) but which
usuall is/gets blocked by dirt and debris which collects between the
fenders. It is a notoriously poor design. Your suggestion about
taking the drain a little farther is on target...except for the cars
mentioned, there isn't any aperture through which to run the hose
(extension)...one has to be manufactured.
Cheers!

This is a problem <?> that is inherent with most of the TR line. (I think)
on my '3 I extended any drain tube I found so that it came out below any
sheet metal. This included the cowlvent and the trunk lid rail drains.
All it meant was getting a little longer piece of hose. You might have to
make the "exit" hole a little larger to accomodate the hose.
later...
