Greetings all,
Just dropped in after a two-day conference and I'm seeing
lots of requests/ideas for slicing/dicing/maintaining the
TR6 list.
In distributing this list, I was looking for a lowest
common denominator as some folks are more advanced
technically than others and I don't know who has PC
database, spreadsheet, etc. capability so I thought
a simple text file would suffice. If anyone is interested,
I do have this data in a Microsoft Access database which
I could export in a variety of formats. It's currently
in a single table but I've explored options for a multi-table
database if this list experiences significant and consisitent
growth - I have been taking a wait and see attitude. I'm
hoping to see more and have been in touch with a couple of
list members who will be posting the list and collecting
data from club TR6 owners that don't currently subscribe
to this list or don't have internet access.
I cannot currently provide public web access from our
web site at work (corporate intranet - they'd frown on
my doing that!) so if anyone has this capability, I'll
turn this duty over - I do think someone needs to be
a single point of contact who could solicit and distribute
the information. I will say that I haven't heard from mjb
yet and never saw the distribution of version 2 other than
what I sent individually, so perhaps Mark would rather we
handle distribution away from the list server? Let me know
what everyone would like to do on this - I'm happy to keep
maintaining the data but will gladly turn it over to someone
with wider distribution capability - I think it's definitely
a good resource!
