Kevin: If you're going to keep the car for several years, I'd have the entire car bare metal stripped. 11 coats of paint do not make a stable base for more paint! Find some paint stippper that's used on Corvettes( or any fiberglass car)- it'll take the paint off w/o harming the fiberglass. Alternatively, find someone who does plastic bead blasting. They'll bead blast the entire car for @$450 (insert pound conversion formula here!), and not harm the 'glass or metal. |
