Hey All,
Has anyone gotten the new TRF newsletter? What do we all think of this
TRF Car Club?
Boy, did Charles really lay it on the line, explaining what has been
happening financially with TRF and the Coventry inn. I tell ya, this
newsletter has me a bit worried. It is a very ballsee move for any
company to admit that the banks have stopped giving them credit. It was
also very upfront to be told that TRF is carrying a $2,000,000 debt.
However you have to wonder if this Coventry Inn thing was really such a
good idea. Charles obviously loves it, but it has put TRF at risk. But
that is water under the bridge now, and there is no turning back for TRF
and the Coventry Inn.
So now they would like me (and you) to join a car club. I read the
news
letter 3 times last might and could not find an indication of what the
cost of membership is. I saw that if I renew next year I get $100 of
parts free. I assume this years fee is $100.
I am going to call this morning to find out more details and join, but
Charles I would like my membership fee to be spent on bringing down this
debt TRF is carrying. A company needs a line of credit to survive!
Please don't invest it in the Inn. But if TRF goes under the Inn will
follow, where as if the Inn must suffer I would think this would not
effect TRF as long as you don't allow it to drain more funs from TRF.
Perhaps the two should be treated as separate companies of that is
possible.
Charles for me the Inn is nice, but TRF is a must. Don't let TRF go
down.
I'm sorry the market seems to have shrunk, but in the last to year I
have spent more money at TRF than the previous 6 years that I had owned
the car. Why, because I am starting to restore my TR6. And I will
continue to spend money at a greater rate for at least 2 years. Then I
will look for that TR4A that I want. Also a friend of mine is looking
for a TR3, and I have already told him about 'this nice little company
called TRF' that he should be buying parts from.
Yes the market may be shrinking, yes we will support you with sales and
memberships, but please support us and make sure the business decisions
do not put TRF at risk any more than necessary.
Thanks,
JHD IV
