A friend (non LBC type) recently told me a story about selling his
mother
"first year Mazda sports car" (he didn't remember the model, "the one with
the round taillights!) to a junk yard and getting a premium price "because
the tranny was a 5 speed w/ O/D and it would fit Triumphs and MG's"

Needless to say, I'm more than a little skeptical, but figured if there
was any place in the world to find out if such a beast exists, it would be
this list. Is my friend full of S**T (well he is, but that's another
story) or is there a bolt up tranny out there that works in our beloved
marquee?

I only ask this question having totally struck out trying to find a
synchronized (i.e. TR3B, TR4 or TR6) O/D tranny for my rebuild project.
Any help locating either a Triumph or other brand tranny would be
appreciated.
