I tried to tighten them but the nuts which are welded to the frame were stripped. I put a nyloc on each bolt and fixed the problem. We checked my friends TR6 and it had the same problem. You may want to check yours. Hah, you were lucky. Years of wet carpets had rusted the floors around the passenger rear nuts on my TR4A, so the nuts and surrounding metal were gone! I brazed a nut to a piece of 1" x 3/16 steel and JB Welded it to the underside until I have time to replace the whole panel. If the nut that's part of the frame rail is stripped or missing, you're going to be hard pressed to fix it. |
