/3rd...I am currently rebuilding both carbs (CD150's) and need to replace
/the throttle shaft seals.
/Are there any tricks to getting the old ones out and putting the new
/ones in ? Any opinions on who
/has the best quality/price for the new ones ?
It's best to send these out to have the shafts rebushed. Apple
hydraulics, TRF and others do this for about $40-50. Also, be sure to
check the needles and seats (jets). If they are worn, the mixture will
be un-adjustable. Look for ridges on the needles and out of round
seats.
/4th...I have the Bentley manual for the GT6 which details the retrofitting
/of a brake servo. Are
/these difficult to find and rebuild ? Based on what I've read in
/the Haynes manual, the rebuilding
/doesn't look to difficult although I noticed the kit is somewhat expensive.
You'd have to phone around for a used one. It might be worth checking
some of the UK suppliers. I have no idea what the availability is, a
lot of people took them off. VB sells the whole unit for $270. The
rebuild kits are ~$150. The hard part in mrebuilding is getting it back
togethor after replacing the parts. It has a very strong spring inside.
