It was none other than Giovanni Michelotti. He was a draftsman in the
Stabilimenti Farina. He also worked for Vignale, Ghia, Moretti, Bertone and
a few other design houses. He designed the Spit entirely on speculation and
without prompting from Coventry. He re-designed it again in 1971 for the
1500 look. This info comes from a wonderful book entitled "The Triumph
