Bill,
Mine doesn't sound too bad...not much bottom end, but reasonably clear, even at
1/2 to 3/4 on the
volume level. I have 6 in. speakers, 8 Ohm nominal impedance. If yours are 4
Ohm, that might
have an affect. Seperate amplifiers are available which have both low level
(pre-amp, RCA type
plugs) and high level inputs. When using the high level inputs, the output
from amp in the radio
(all 3 watts of it!) is attenuated and matched to the input of the amp itself.
The output of the
add-on amp should have no trouble 4 Ohm speakers. Follow wiring instructions
carefully,
especially as it relates to grounds.
