Folks,
While we were visiting my parents this last weekend in Seattle, I
sat in my Spit-6, which has been sitting outside ever since we got the
Jag. Dianne wondered if we couldn't get it going, so Sunday we worked all
day on it. My 17yr old brother, who doesn't have the LBC bug like me,
helped quite a bit. Washing, buffing, inspecting, fixing, testing. I
thought I'd turn the engine for a few seconds to get some oil pressure
before I hit the gas, but I'll be damned if it didn't fire right up!
I began our test drive with a good, long, inner healing, blue smoke tyre
bake, and you should have seen his face light up!
Anyway, after a few blocks of driving the old machine, it quit,
and we had to coast home. Wouldn't start for anything! We had plenty of
spark, good fuel pressure from the electric pump.
What was happening? It's a QUIZ. Not a tough one though, so have a fun
poke at it! ^^^^^^^^^^^
Anyway, we had to leave the spit there, because by the time we figured
out what was causing it not to run, it was 9pm. :-( Dianne was intent on
getting home quickly, so she drove the Jag on our return trip. We covered
the 300mi trip in 3.5 hours. Smokin!
