It sounds as if your oil pressure limiter isn't adjusted quite right - I
believe that the spec for the TR6 is 75psi (hmm, can't find it right now). This
isn't easily adjusted, and I wouldn't worry about it too much. High pressure at
startup is mostly worrisome because there is a slight chance of blowing out a
fitting. Just don't rev it hard while cold.

50psi when warm is a nice number. Sounds like the bearings and oil pump are in
good shape. How far does it drop at idle?

Overdrive. The easiest way is by inspection; well, actually, the easiest way is
to just try it! Turn on the ignition, engage 3d or 4th, and move the switch.
You should hear the solenoid click under the tranny cover. If not, there's
something wrong electrically, or it just isn't there. The wires leave the relay
and go into the tranny cover at the firewall in the passenger footwell - look
for a yellow wire with a tracer. The reverse leads (green and green/brown)
probably go through the same hole.

If you hear the click but the overdrive doesn't engage, it could be a simple
matter of adjustment. Check the manual for details - basically you need to
engage the solenoid and do some alignment of the actuating lever. This may
require removing the tranny cover if the access panel is not there (varies).

>From under the car, the difference in appearance between non-OD and OD trannies
is pretty obvious - again, see the manual for good pictures.

I *like* my stainless exhaust, because I don't worry about having to replace it
any time soon. Especially since I live in California where rust normally isn't
a problem. One less thing to worry about for long-term viability of the car.
