What bushings did you use? Were they factory style, or the urethane =
bushings SS sells? The urethane bushings are for lack of a better term =
=E2=80=9Cfree floating=E2=80=9D (rotation) and shouldn=E2=80=99t cause =
the problem. While you can lubricate these it shouldn=E2=80=99t be a =
requirement for rotation. Rather the lubrication helps with longevity =
and squeaks. I believe Tom Hall did a write up on adding Zerk fittings =
for that purpose.
The stock type the rubber bushing flexes and as such lubricating them =
will do nothing. As stated, if tightened with the wheels in full droop =
they quickly run out of rotation and bind when loaded with weight. This =
can leave the car high. Also, because of the location of the spring =
there is a greater than 1 to 1 ratio as it affects the ride height. If =
the rubber donut was well worn the new donut will raise the car.
Be careful if you loosen the bushings. You need the car to drop =
=E2=80=93 and it will drop.., possibly on you.=20

Subject: [Tigers] Front Suspension
Since it has been so quiet, I thought I would throw one out. My front =
suspension is sooo stiff and the height is 2-3 inches in my mind higher =
than it should be. Rebuilt suspension, welded up per CAT instructions, =
stock springs, Koni shocks - old and all new rubber etc.
The front has no bounce at all. First idea is to loosen upper and lower =
control arm bolts, drive just a bit and then re-tighten. Can you put =
the front anti sway bar on upside down - not sure is could be a problem =
or not. Bushing grease on all new rubber?
Thoughts\ideas would be appreciated.
Joel Martin, MK1A
