hmmmm...well my understanding on the term "roller tip rockers" is to imply
that its not a full roller rocker but only the tip is roller. I have seen
stamped rockers that looks similar to the factory rocker arms but have a
roller tip....but do not have the roller fulcrum. I thought it was motivated
as a lesser costly solution to a rocker arm that is more performance that
stock...but not as much as the full roller. I could be mistaken....
Cullen
Cullen, Bugz and all:
This issue of clearance with roller rockers came up when we were rebuilding
my '67 289. I was talked into "roller-tipped rockers" as a viable solution
to the clearance problem, and they certainly fit under the LAT alloy valve
covers with no problem.
But I have never heard these discussed on this list. Please excuse my
ignorance, but can anyone run the pros and cons past me (an anyone else
that's interested!) of these rocker arms, or is the only "pro" the fact that
they fit?? They certainly work well enough so far. (About 10,000 miles...)
Thanks guys,
Dave
