There is the same volume of air, but it is less dense.
I imagine the ability of a given volume of air to conduct heat is reduced as
well.
The capability of the cooling system must be compromised to some extent. This
may be offset to some degree by the fact that the engine's capability to
produce heat(and power) is also compromised due to the density problem.
