Hi Rob,
Ziptying the ignition plug wires together is a good way to cause
crossfire and wreck the wires in the process. You should space the wires
apart using some plug wire spacers (much like your original setup had)
and pay attention to the order of the wires so that cylinders that fire
adjacent to each other (in the firing order) do not have their wires
running adjacent to each other. The original (classic 260-289-302)
firing order had that issue with the #7 and 8 wires, and there was a
specific note in the Tiger manual about the plug wire routing for these
cylinders.
