I'm no expert on showroom-stock restoration, but I've used Plasti-Kote
paints for various repainting projects and they have a 'satin black'
lacquer that works pretty nicely. Seems to me they also have (or had) a
'hot rod black' that was also inbetween gloss and flat.

Looks like they also have a 'low gloss black' in their engine enamel
line, as well as 'old ford blue' and 'ford blue'. I used their Universal
Black on the 5.0 that's gone into my Tiger, and it is very high gloss,
and gives good coverage without runs.
