Hi David, When you turn it so that the front face of the vacuum canister (where the vacuum line attaches) runs directly into something, that's advancing it. When you turn it and the side or back of the canister hits something, that's retarding the timing. Viewed from the top, advance is clockwise. Best regards, Theo |
