Several things come to mind after reading your post. LAT 75 for example has
several designations including a 75S. These items are identified as, Spinners
for LAT70 wheels, Shocks for the freeway, Shocks for the freeway with a
different compression rate.
It appears that some LAT numbers were added that were never available from
Rootes, but were available directly from an outside manufacturer or from a
dealer. Could the confusion caused by this numbering system have occurred
from the attempt to convince the racing bodies of there authenticity as an
option, therefore making vital performance parts assessable and "legal" for
competition? Traction Masters might be one such example.
At the time the Tiger was being raced the governing bodies were rather
capricious with the way rules were applied and interpreted (Nascar in the
60's and 70's was guilty of this some time...I saw it happen to my Torino in
the Western Grand National venue). Ultimately, I don't think any of this was
malicious, just over zealous in an attempt to keep everyone on a level
playing field.
I have never seen a revisionist on this list and I'm still convinced they do
not exist. Steve's old, but still great at the few things his advanced state
of age still allows him to do. XOXOXO at ya Steve.

P.S. I'll have to check TBON to see if my memory is correct on the Traction
Master thing.
