For those wanting to clean up an aluminum intake try this. 

Find the local Cermakrome coater and ask him to put the manifold in the 
vibrator (don't blast it with any media). After 30 or 40 minutes with the 
ceramic beads it should look great and there seems to be a mild increase in 
performance due to the effects of the process on the inside of the manifold. 
It works for Randy Hannigan from the World of Outlaws sprint car racing.
