Steve,
If you had this carburetor on your Tiger, the electric pump would fill the
bowel before you start the engine. I normally wait a few seconds before
doing a cold start just to let the bowls fill up. The float levels should be
set with the engine running (Is this possible on a Carter?). If, after
sitting overnight, you don't have enough gas left in the carb to get a
couple of squirts from the accelerator pump, I would suspect a leaking
gasket. Adjusting the float level won't fix this problem. (Who was it that
said Carters never leak?)
