Okay,

The first new car I ever bought was '79 VW Rabbit (temporary insanity) that
wasn't "rust-proofed" but "sound-deadened" by the dealer. Looked like the
same stuff though.

We've had a succession of Volvos for years, here in winter salt-land. The
ONLY one
that ever rusted was my son's Ziebarted 144. None of the others had any sort
of
treatment.
