And I thought the hole in the firewall to enable changing the last
sparkplug on Sunbeam Tigers was a bit extreme...
Again, I was leafing through some old magazines, and I came across
an article on Bizzarrinis; it included a couple of close-ups of the top of
the dashboard, and for good reason. With the Chevy V8 tunneled so far back
into the firewall, Tiger-style, the car needed a trap door in the top of the
dash for access to the rear-mounted distributor! And remember, this was
before breakerless ignition, so somebody had to change points on that beast
regularly. It looked like it would require removing either the engine or the
windshield to change distributors.
I guess if there ever _had_ been a Chrysler-powered Tiger
post-takeover, it would have to have something similar.
