One addition to Jim's reply to you Andrew....well, maybe two:
If your gas gauge is reading 3/4 when it is indeed full, chances are you
have a bad voltage regulator which is pretty common. It is under the dash,
somewhere in the middle, usually affixed with a screw or rivet to the one of
the metal braces. It is rectangular, about 3/4 inch wide by about 1 1/4
inch long. They are fairly common to Brit sports cars and you can find them
at any parts store that specializes in Triumphs and other LBC's. (This same
voltage regulator was used on TR's)
The second portion of the response may be bad news....may not be. As your
Tiger is a "unibody" chassis, it could not have been "remounted" after the
restoration, thus throwing it off 3/4 inch during hard cornering. If it is
indeed the frame, I would suspect that the car was severely mangled before
being fixed. More than likely though, it may be that whoever reassembled
the car might have mis-aligned the rear axle between the leaf springs or did
not put the front end together correctly.
I might suggest you contact Rick at Sunbeam Specialties for a copy of the
original shop manual. He also has the regulators. The shop manual should
help you to track down the correct settings and offsets for the front and
rear.

To answer at least 2 of your questions: I believe The Book of Norman is
out of print and out of stock. Sorry, but it is unlikely anybody will
be willing to part with their copy. Maybe Norm can be pursuaded into
another printing.
I had a similar problem with a '65 Mustang. The rubber hole between the
gas tank and filler cap was cracked, releasing gasoline into the trunk
whenever the car was filled up. Check the line running between the two
fender tanks for a crack.
