Appreciate all the discusion about silicone brake fluid, but I don't believe the Valvoline "Synpower" is silicone. It meets or exceeds DOT 3 & 4 and the dry/wet boiling point is 513/333 degrees F. It mixes with conventional brake fluid and it could damage paint finishes. The fluid contains "a complex mixture of glycol ethers, polyglycols and inhibitors," whatever that means. The boiling temperatures are good, but the damage to paint finishes doesn't sound good. Any experience with this. |
