Gee, Tym
I just sent out a reply on this. Yes there is. First, you
need to replace all that broken tar square that fell off
when you removed the headlier and padding (unless it had
fallen off before_. It is a sound deadner and NOT
undercoat. At one time it was a flexible rubber.
Q-Pads are sold in auto paint stores, and are ideal for this
purpose, with a peel-off sticky back. Clean surface before
applying. I used 2 12" squares + a third one cut in half
for a 24 wide by 18 deep (or was it the other way?)
They come in packs, and I also used them to replace the
roofing paper in the doors. Three 12" pads along the door
bottom and 3 1/2 pads above them just fits fine. Makes a
SOLID sounding door.
An aluminum backed multi-colored foam is available for the
next hard-top layer. Also suitable for under carpet and
under dash use. Comes in one and two sided aluminum.
