I've driven some of those Michigan (and Illinois) roads. After a winter
they are worse than cobblestones, with all the cracks, potholes, etc.
Now wonder you couldn't tell the difference. My experience is that they
accurately transmit all road shock to your teeth. Talk about "feel of
the road", this is the ultimate. Got rid of urethane motor mounts, on
another car, because they would transmitt all motor vibrations and
torqueing right to my body.
